Welcome
LPTC is a raid alliance that was formed in September 2008. It's made up of players from different guilds on the Aquilonia server and was formed with the idea of allowing smaller guilds to experience raiding without having to join traditional PuG raids.

Stepping down as a LPTC leader
Poster: Alisyah 18 Aug 2010, 18:20

For almost two years now I have been leading LPTC. First with Heruler then with twit, and for a large part of this time LPTC and my friends here have been the only reason for me to continue playing. But recently I've started to question why I'm still playing when I either log in to lead raids in instances that I've cleared more than my fair share of times or to just stand around chatting to a few different people. Even progression raiding in T3 hasn't been fun as there's not enough of it. So on Monday just out of interest I looked to see what day my subscription was up and I saw that it was due to renew it's self Tuesday lunchtime and I made the split-second decision to just cancel it. That's it, end of AoC for me for now. Not leaving for any other game, just leaving. May be back in the future, may not be.

So I'd just like to say thank-you to everyone who's contributed to keeping the game fun for me for as long as it was and also to those who have helped make and keep LPTC what it is now. Keep up the good work with it with just twit as your leader and to the Core Members; "Get those last 2 server firsts in Thoth Amon's claimed, fast! I'll still make me smile to see LPTC get them, even if I'm not a part of it!"

Best of luck to you all and I'll maybe see some of you in the future in other games.

Erm, host change again...
Poster: mosimo 18 Mar 2010, 16:32

So apparently the old host died or got their account suspended which meant the LPTC one went too.

Anyway, long story short. Back on my host, the problems I was having before should now be fixed, reinstalled everything on the server and it's working much better. I've had to revert the database back to a backup at 17/03/2010 - 11:20am (UK time)

The old address was changed back to here about 30 mins before I posted this, give it up to 24hrs to propogate through everyone's name servers everywhere and it will all be back, good as new.

Any problems give me a shout.

New patch, new start!
Poster: Alisyah 06 Feb 2010, 19:30

As many of you will now be noticing there have suddenly been some forum changes. In addition to these there will be some other fairly big changes too, so read on to find out more..

Two new Raid Leaders:
Khabeleth and Rhugar have both agreed to try their hand at leading T1 and T2 raids. So please be patient while they get used to it. It may seem like an easy job, but we decided to be extra-mean and throw a new complication into the mix (more info further down).

New raid schedule:
With two new leaders we'll be running extra raids. The eventual plan is to have raids running near enough every evening, covering all raids from T1 to T3. There is currently no fixed schedule, so check back regularly as we'll put up raids for most days and when we have enough sign-ups we will go. When we're able to see which days suit people best we will then look at having a fixed schedule again. The majority of these raid will be T3 at the minute, but it's all subject to change depending on demand.

T1 and T2:
We have decided to open T1 and T2 raids to anyone who'd like to go, so in the start and with new leaders this may mean that they don't run quite so smoothly as we're used to. Places will be allocated to the required classes first and in some cases (BRC particularly) not having the right gear and specs will mean you are not given a spot when someone who signed up after you is. This can't be helped though as we are aiming to complete all boss encounters as smoothly as possible each week and to do that we need to keep some of our "core" members in key roles in each raid. In order to sign up for these raids all you need to do is read the rules, register an account on these forums then sign up for the raids that interest you.

T3:
T3 raids will be happening, but in order to access this section of the forum you will need to submit an application. There will be some additional rules that you will need to read and agree to before submitting the application. Having the correct Tier gear, protection sets and making positive impressions in T1 and T2 raids will give you an edge over other people.

DKP:
DKP will only be used for T3 raids and there will be no reset or anything like that. We have decided to do it this way because with the number of additional raids we'd like to run it will mean crazy amounts of admin work to continue with DKP for T1/T2 and all the new people who will hopefully join us. Loot will still be distributed using Master Looter, but dice rolls or coin flips will be used to determine who takes which items. There will be no fixed DKP costs for T3 items, just a minimum cost, then you can use your DKP to bid on items for your class up to the maximum amount you have. Once we start downing bosses in T3 regularly the DKP differences between new members and old members will lessen, but we have to reward the players who have been with us long-term for the efforts they have put in to making LPTC a success.

Tokens:
Tokens will be distributed using a Suicide Kings system. There will be full information posted on this soon.

New forum layout and rules:
With the new T1 and T2 changes we decided to open the forums up to everyone. This means the majority of the forum will be open to everyone to read, but with the new layout we are having a fresh start in all sections. Please keep this in mind when making new posts and be sure to post things in the relevant sections. There will also be a new set of posting rules as we welcome everyone to come and be a part of the community, whether they raid with us or not, and posting anything on the forums is agreeing to follow the new rules. There will be very little tolerance for people who break the rules as we wish to keep the same atmosphere as we currently have.

New recruitment video:
I am looking at getting a new recruitment video made so will be recording at all encounters with LPTC for a while. So please make sure you behave (Filip! ;))! But aside from that, any suggestions for music or a possible theme to run through the video etc are all welcome. Just don't spam this thread with them!

Website issues:
The issues we've been having with the website being slow and unresponsive a lot of the time should be fixed Monday at the latest. They will be moved to a temporary new host but when Mosi's connection is all fixed it will be back there.

And finally..:
Get everyone you know over to the forums and get acquainted with the new layout and rules. You don't need to raid actively with us to come and be a part of the community.
