Welcome

LPTC is a raid alliance formed in September 2008. It's made up of players from different guilds with the idea of allowing smaller guilds to experience organized raiding. With the server merges in June 2011 LPTC moved from Aquilonia to Crom.

An eulogy

All good things must end though we often wish it not so. A tub of icecream, a kiss with your new-found love tasting of possibilities, a warm summer spent at a beach house with not a care in the world, a quiet moment giving you reprieve in a chaotic life. While LPTC was all of that and much more, it too has to end. Or 'we' rather, LPTC was nothing but us, from beginning to end.
After three years of raiding we've come to the point where the best thing for everyone is to call it quits, we have changed, the game has changed, and when it's transforming from a joy to a chore it's time to move on. (Not applicable to dishes, or vacuuming.)
During our three-year run we've had hundreds of members and our public raids have encompassed hundreds more. With our stance of being as open and neutral as possible we've brought raiding opportunites to those who would otherwise not get them, and created new friendships and a place to grow as players and persons.
We've had both exhilarating moments and occasions of defeat, but I daresay it's been a great ride as the late Bill Hicks would say.

A thread has been created where you can post anything you want shared about your time with LPTC, as a celebration of the good times we've had.

And from me personally, a HUGE thank you to everyone who's participated in making LPTC what it's been over the last three years. This was my first MMO and LPTC has undoubtedly been the defining part of that experience.

Memories

A thread for any- and everything you want to share with everyone about your LPTC experience.
Pictures, quotes, videos, anything! That great kill, the time you forgot your kid at kindergarten in order to get home in time for the raid, the pizza that sat in the kitchen getting cold while you couldn't pry yourself from the 'puter, that thing that person said that made you laugh and still haven't forgotten about etc. etc.

(As I've disabled membership signup to stave off the bot influx, if you're currently not a registered member and wish to post in this thread you'll need to send me an in-game message (to my necro) and we'll work something out. I'll login every few days to check on messages.)

Public raids

Instead of using the usual sign-up system we used on Aquilonia where people had to sign up in the thread to get a raid spot we are going to try it a little bit differently. There will be a thread posted each month which will list all the dates and times along with the leader of the raid. To join the raid you simply need to be online 20 minutes before raid start and send the raid leader a tell for an invite. It will be done on a first-come-first-served basis, so make sure you're online and available in time!

The raids for the rest of this month and August can be found here!

Any public T3 raids will still be done via signups in the thread for it, but don't expect any of these until early August!

The LPTC exodus

With the merger of Aquilonia, Stygia and Fury and the subsequent player migration it was clear LPTC would have to adapt to continue in it's current form or reshape significantly into something new.
Weighing the options and server choice over the few weeks since the merge it's been obvious that irregardless of what path we chose we will lose some players and that what we most of all do not wish to lose is the open nature of LPTC in that any player can raid with us provided they follow our rules, and that we offer an opportunity for players of smaller guilds to experience and progress in regular high-tier raiding.

Staying on Fury means taking a huge stride backwards in regards to player availability and overall PvE aptitude, a stride too large for us to feel comfortable with being able to recover before our old players lose interest. As such, LPTC will be moving all it's activities to the Crom server.
We're acutely aware some of our members will be furious, sad, disappointed, frustrated and so on by this, while others will embrace it. This is the unfortunate and unavoidable result of the server merge and again, our interest is first and foremost to keep LPTC going as a raiding entity.

On Crom we will form up a guild for all interested LPTC members and Aquilonia expatriates, with a ruleset we'll decide on together over the next couple of weeks. LPTC membership will not hinge on being a member of said guild, but it will offer an opportunity for us to recover what guild utilities we leave behind and also strengthen LPTC as a group. Membership in this guild will be open for those who do not raid with LPTC as well. When the promised cross-server integration happens old members who chose to stay on Fury will certainly be more than welcome to rejoin our raids if they so wish.

We'll see more discussion about this over the weekend, and certainly on the sunday ventrilo meeting.

Thoth-Amon lost his head

Plenty of souls were taken by Set but not even a god can stand between LPTC and raid progression.
Having been very close to a kill for weeks we finally had a group of fully focused raiders, many with new or tweaked specs, capable of killing the final meanie in T3. A fight that requires more effort and skill from everyone in the raid than any previous fight, we worked out the kinks and saw past the many frustrating moments towards the inevitable goal.

Keeper of Artifacts / Hollow Knight down

Image

Another server first, after months of near-full raids and little work on Keeper we have a bunch of new members and a new shiny boss dead.

With people from eleven different guilds participating it's safe to say raid progression comes to everyone willing to work for it :)

Huge thankees to all who attended, and our AWOL norwegian who certainly was cheering from wherever he was.
